Pauline Brooks Robberson

May 7, 1916 — February 8, 2016

Pauline Brooks Robberson, daughter, beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-great grandmother completed her journey on earth and passed away to the loving arms of Jesus where she longed to be. She died peacefully in her sleep Monday, February 8, 2016 three months shy of her 100th birthday. Pauline was born in Melrose, NM on the family farm on May 7, 1916 to Ella and Sylvester Brooks. Pauline and her twin brother, Paul, were second born, of eleven children. She was the last surviving sibling. On February 23, 1936 she married her true love, Joseph Patrick Robberson in Melrose, NM. They started out farming until in the war broke out in 1941 and then moved to California where Joe worked for Northrop Aircraft for nine years. After the war and missing the farming life, they moved back to Melrose, NM and began farming again. By this time they had completed their family of two boys and two girls. Pauline was very active in the Church of Christ in Melrose and the kid's activities. She was happiest at home cooking for the family. She especially liked to get up early in the morning and make eggs, sausage, potatoes, and of course home-made biscuits for the family. Pauline was the best cook ever. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Kathleen Dungan in 2002, her beloved Joe in 2003, and her youngest son, Rex in 2013. She is survived by daughter, Betty Barron and son, Pat Robberson and his wife Kathy, Rex's wife, Beverly, her grandchildren, Nancy Barron Rothery and husband Doug, Milton Barron, Dave Barron and his wife Kathy, Aaron Anderson and his wife Susan, Stanley Robberson and his wife Kay, Loryn Anderson, Ann Robberson, Sheila Wilson and husband Darry. She leaves behind 13 great-grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Everyone that had the pleasure to know her describes her as the most loving, kind, caring, gentle woman God ever sent to earth. She was a true Christian in every sense of the word. The family would like to thank the many caregivers that she had at Canyon Transitional Rehabilitation Center during the last few years. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Pauline's memory to Moriarty Church of Christ at 219 Irene Ave, Moriarty, NM 87035.
