Paul Leslie Brannan was born in Long Beach, California. Upon growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Paul graduated from Sandia High School in 1967. From 1968-1972, he was a radioman for the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. Following the war, Paul worked for the Public Service Company of New Mexico as a mechanic’s helper while attending technical school at night. Upon graduation from technical school with an associate’s degree, he worked at Sandia National Labs from 1975-2009 as a technologist.
Paul, a tenor, frequently led singing at Pennsylvania Street Church of Christ and Montgomery Church of Christ in Albuquerque. He sang with both the New Mexico Symphony Chorus, and the New Mexichords, a men’s barbershop chorus in Albuquerque.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Nena Brannan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and dear sister-in-law, Virginia Heard Brannan of Shoreline, Washington. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Marie Rogers Brannan; daughter, Paulette Cecille Brannan; brother, Dale Brannan (Beverly); brother, Gary Brannan (Virginia); his nephews and nieces, Dina, John, David, Mark, Lisa Joie, their families; and many others who rejoice in the singing he must be enjoying in Heaven.
