Patricia "Pat" Joy House

On September 3, 2026, Patricia Joy Snyder House entered into her eternal reward with her daughter-in-law, Elena House and her caregivers of LaVida Llena by her side. Pat was born on July 31,1927 in Elkland, PA to Clark W. and Ruby Snyder. Pat was the mother of three children, Mark House, Douglas House, and Barbara Lawless, all three having predeceased her.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Elena and Nancy House; and four grandchildren, Mark E. House, Douglas S. House, Nolan Lawless, and Colleen Lawless. A fifth grandchild, Adrienne Lawless, predeceased Pat.

Pat was the wife of Ernest J. House, a retired army officer who passed away in 1992; and a sister to Keith Snyder, his wife, Lois; Shirley Hughes (deceased); Richard Snyder, his wife Janet; and Vernon Snyder.

Pat was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church of Albuquerque, a very talented and dedicated public-school teacher, and past President of the New Mexico Chapter of Phi Delta Kappa Toastmistress. In addition, she served as librarian for Wycliffe Bible Translators in Cameroon, Africa.

Pat enjoyed travel, taking several cruises and visiting numerous countries, and as part of her travels she enjoyed collecting and bringing home beautiful artwork, sculptures, and jewelry, all of which beautifully graced her home and life.

Pat was loved by all who knew her, and wherever she went the lives of people she touched were significantly enriched.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 18, 2026, 11:30 a.m., at FRENCH - University.
