Patricia Lucille (Conway) Givens

Patricia Lucille (Conway) Givens, devoted wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, aunt, cousin, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2026 at the age of 88.

Patricia (Patty) was born to Charles and Edith Conway in Boulder, CO. She spent many years in various places in Colorado surrounded by many family members creating wonderful memories and stories that she would share frequently with her own family. She moved with her family to Primero, CO, where she would graduate from Primero High School in 1955. Patty attended Colorado University graduating with a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing in 1959 during a time that many women did not attend college.

Patty met John Allen Givens in Primero and they married on May 28, 1960. They left Colorado for Albuquerque where Patty worked for a few years as a RN at St. Joseph's Hospital. She worked in the newborn nursery, and assisted in developing the NICU. After having her first of four children, she made the decision to stay at home to raise her children; returning to work at the New Mexico Department of Health as a public health nurse in 1987 until retiring in 2005, with a short stint as a nurse at the PNM power plant.

Patty and John's adventure took them to Kirtland, NM in 1968 where she was the heart of our home and family. She raised four children, Richard, Lori, John, and Kelli as a loving and supportive mother, as well as bringing her children up with a strong devotion to the Catholic faith. She taught and spread the Catholic faith to many children through catechism. They moved back to Albuquerque in 2005 to continue that love and support to her grandchildren and extended family. Her grandchildren were some of her greatest blessings. She enjoyed attending all of their schooling, church, and sporting events, which also included many trips to Boise, ID. One of her many talents was crocheting and knitting, which she enjoyed giving as gifts to her family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edith Conway, loving sister Karen (Conway) Coleman, son-in-law, Kip Myers, nephew Jim Coleman, great-nephew, Luke Smith, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mom is survived by her caring, loving husband of 65 years, John Givens, her sons Richard (Peggy) and John (Christina) and her daughters Lori Myers (Kip) and Kelli Lemken (Billy). The joys of her life, her 10 grandchildren: Ryan (Amanda) Myers, Matthew Givens, Nicolas (Ashley) Myers, Kyle Givens, Andrew (Jordin) Givens, Jessica Givens (fiancé Joe Sava), Brennan Myers, Eric Givens, Madison Lemken, and Maci Lemken. Her great-grandchildren Rylie and Jonah Myers, Beckham and Grayson Myers, and Ella and Avery Givens. Her nephew Joe (Cathy) Coleman and nieces Edy (Robert) Smith and Francie (Randy) Kaufman. Great-nephews and great-nieces: Shayla (Chris) Wallis, Bo Coleman, Trey Coleman, Tiffany Smith, Caitlyn (Dakota) Neibarger, and numerous family members.

Her services will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Albuquerque, NM with visitation at 10:00 am, rosary at 10:30 am, followed by mass at 11:00 am. There will be a lunch reception in the church gymnasium following the mass. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery at 2:00 pm.
