IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Christina
Gutierrez
September 1, 1965 – January 11, 2026
Pamela Christina Gutierrez was born on September 1, 1965, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved daughter of Mary Nea Tapia and Moises Quintana Jr and raised by her Grand-parents Severo and Angela Tapia. She graduated from Portales High School and attended Eastern New Mexico University.
Pamela is survived by her husband of 21 years, Andy Gutierrez and her two daughters Nicole Angela Blackmon and Salome (Sally) Emilia Gutierrez that were the light of her life.
Pamela is also survived by her three sisters, Irene Chavez, Sophia Chavez, Eva Ricard and brother Daryl Vanderwalker.
Pamela and Andy were married on July 29, 2004, in Durango, Colorado. They enjoyed dancing on the deck of their home, listening to Spanish music on KANW, fishing, taking summer family trips to Red River and Durango, riding in her golf cart while sometimes blowing bubbles, and spending time outdoors. She loved and spent a lot of time with the three family dogs and even taught one of them to sing on que.
For most of her career, Pam was a sales and marketing professional in print and broadcast media. She was owner of Aviant, LLC, a sales/marketing/events services agency and worked at the New Mexico Business Weekly (now Albuquerque Business First), 770KKOB news radio, KRQE Channel 13, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, and other businesses.
Pamela will be remembered for her radiant laugh, wonderful outlook on life, and love for the holiday seasons. She was so full of life, the heart and soul of our family. She loved working on art, gardening, playing scratchers and casino going, yard sales, watching old movies and attended mass when she could but always watched mass on Sunday morning. Her favorite past time however, was singing Karaoke and inviting her loved ones to sing along with her. She lived life to the fullest, every holiday, every family event, every moment.
Pamela deeply loved her family and cherished her two daughters - she was extremely proud of their accomplishments and the strong, independent, beautiful young ladies they had become.
