Olga Marina Valdez

Olga Valdez, 81 years old, of Albuquerque, passed away April, 9, 2026 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born October 27,1944, to Adam Valdez and Romelia Galdamez in Los Amates, Izabal, Guatemala.

Olga married Carlos Zuñiga, in 1965, who preceded her in death. She then married Carlos Enrique Cerna in 1978, who also preceded her in death.

Olga is survived by four children, Nidia Zelaya and husband, Armando Zelaya; Eduardo Zuñiga and wife, Maria Serrano; Juan Jose Zuñiga and wife, Cristina Zuñiga, of Albuquerque; and Edgar Cerna and wife, Jennifer Cerna of Mesa, AZ; 13 grandchildren, Jonathen Zuñiga, Maya Zuñiga, Genesis Zuñiga, Leonel Zelaya, Valeria Zelaya, Gabriela Zelaya, Jacqueline Zuñiga, Christopher Zuñiga, Erick Zuñiga, Stephanie Zuñiga, Naomi Zuñiga, Eva Cerna, and Jonah Cerna; four great-grandchildren, Iliana and Carlos Zuñiga and Martin and Agustin Zelaya; and sibling, Emma Rios.

Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Adam and Romelia; son, Carlos Zuñiga; grandson, Rodolfo Zelaya; and other siblings.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. A devoted Christian and overall loving and kind human being. She will truly be missed.

A visitation will be held Friday, April 17, 2026, 4:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University followed, by a service at 5:00 p.m.
