With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nunelo Artes Edillon, affectionately known as Nelo, who left this world on January 16, 2026, at the age of 86. Nelo was born on June 21, 1939, in Cebu City, Philippines, and he spent the latter part of his life in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he touched the hearts of many.
Nelo was remembered for his deep love of God, his unwavering faith, and his dedication to leading Bible study sessions. He had a gift for bringing joy to those around him, readily sharing laughter and warmth with his unforgettable smile. An artist at heart, he took pleasure in painting, as well as a passion for movies and music that enriched his life and the lives of those he loved. His humor brightened every room he entered, and he had a unique ability to make those around him feel cherished and valued. As a dedicated professional in the advertising and marketing industry, Nelo also excelled in customer service, showcasing his commitment to connecting with others and ensuring their needs were met.
Nelo is survived by his beloved children: Joe Edillon, Tzarina Longfellow, and Mikel Edillon. He is also survived by his brother Guido and his sisters Aireen, Sonia (Chuchi), Vanessa (Gigi), and Eula (Bing Bing), as well as his cherished grandsons, Joshua and Nicholas. He has extended family who will miss him deeply from Albuquerque, who will carry forward Nelo's legacy of love and compassion.He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, Dr. Santiago Edillon and Aida Artes Edillon, along with his brothers Dennis and Joel, and his dear daughter Theresa (Trixie).In honoring Nelo's remarkable life, a series of memorial services will be held on February 9, 2026. Visitation will take place at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. A Cremation Witnessing ceremony will be held at 1:00 PM at the same location. Finally, friends and family are invited to a Reception at the University Reception Center at 2:00 PM to celebrate Nelo's life and share fond memories.Nelo Edillon will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
