IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Nancy Marie
Roberts
December 8, 1940 – December 27, 2025
Nancy Marie (Preston) Roberts 85. Our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, granny and aunt passed unexpectedly December 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was born in the Buffalo, New York area to Charles and Lucille (Cory) Preston. Nancy was the third of four daughters born to Charles and Lucille.
Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy, her parents, Charles and Lucille Preston, stepmother,Doris Preston, sisters, Marlene, Jennifer and Barbara.
Nancy leaves behind her loving children; Daughter Pamala Nunnally, sons Alex and Noah Nunnally and great-grandaughter, Sadie Marie Nunnally. Son, Daniel Roberts , his wife, Lisa, their children, Rachel (son, Urijah Roberts Comacho), Jacob and wife, Auriel Roberts. Son, Jeffrey Roberts.
Nancy married her sweetheart Jimmy Roberts in February of 1960. In 1963 Nancy and Jim with their two young children Pamala and Daniel moved from the Buffalo area to Naples, New York. They rented a large Victorian style home on Main Street and in November of 1965 added a third child, Jeffrey, to their young family. Over the next 15 years Nancy and Jim bought their home on Main Street and lovingly remodeled it, turning it into a beautifully landscaped and tastefully decorated, cozy home. Nancy was a wizard with finances. Jim worked a full time job with NY State highway maintenance department as well as some part time weekend jobs. Nancy was a stay at home mom who picked up part time jobs where she could to help pay for the remodel of their home. In their spare time they joined family and friends on camping trips at nearby state parks. In the summer of 1978, Nancy and Jim packed up their home, the three children and headed west to Albuquerque, New Mexico. This move proved to be a whole new chapter in their family's lives.
Fast forward to 1986, all three children were now married and their first grandson was born, they decided it was time for a new adventure. Jim and Nancy enjoyed cross country road trips, and they decided to pursue this love of road trips by becoming long haul truck drivers. Even Nancy got her commercial drivers license. They bought a Kenworth, and away they went down the highway. They worked for Mayflower Moving company for a few years. Then when their second grandson was born in mid 1988, it became difficult for them to be far away from their grandchildren. Two more grandchildren were born. Nancy and Jim came back to Albuquerque in the mid 90's and settled into a new home. Their love for road trips however did not go away. They bought a travel trailer, to continue their love of road trips in a more leisurely fashion. They drove to all 48 states visiting family and friends and making new memories.
A funny, friendly, petite spitfire who never minced words and never hesitated to engage in conversation with anyone she met. At the age of 85, Nancy could run circles around anyone half her age. She was generous with her time and resources, always willing to help anyone in need. This included her brave effort to be an organ donor. She loved with her whole heart.
There are no words to express how much our family loved, and will dearly miss this very special wife, mom, granny, aunt, sister and friend who touched so many lives.
