Nancy Lystad

Nancy Lystad, 59, beloved wife and mother went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 9, 2016. She was born on February 6th, 1957, in Santa Barbara, California where she lived for her first five years before moving to the Seattle area. Nancy grew up near Lake Washington, where she attended Bellevue Christian School and enjoyed spending her days playing tennis and competitive down-hill skiing. It was while attending a young adult bible study that Jerry first met Nancy and soon fell in love in 1981. Jerry and Nancy were united in marriage and two years later she would become a dedicated mother to their son, Erik. Along with being a mother and wife, she worked both as a teacher's assistant and in a pet health food store in sales and consulting.
In 2012, she moved with her husband on adventure to New Mexico for more sunshine and blue sky. While in the Land of Enchantment, she volunteered as a chaplain at Lovelace Hospital, and at Angel Path Horse Therapy. During her three years in New Mexico, her favorite activities were exploring the Sandia Mountains with her husband and friends, and riding horses as a beautiful cowgirl.
Her devoted husband, of 35 years and their son Dr. Erik Lystad were always there for her as a loving support throughout her life's journey. Nancy's deep faith and love for Jesus Christ her Savior along with her friends and family gave her much encouragement and hope.
Nancy had a sweet, sensitive and lively spirit for loving people and a zest for adventure, along with wonderful sense of humor.
Nancy will be greatly missed by her husband and son and her siblings Allen, Kathy, Scott, Wayne, Bob, and Jim along with her many friends throughout the country.
A memorial celebration of Nancy's life will be held Saturday, February 20th, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Rio Rancho 138 Frontage Rd. NE Rio Rancho, NM.
