Muriel Travis Gatling

Muriel Travis Gatling, known by family and friends as Merle, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2024, at his home in Rio Rancho, NM. 

Merle is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Connie Brooks, Donnie Gatling and wife Stacy, Travis Gatling and wife Kim; stepdaughter, Maryann Meyers; nine grandchildren, Sheila Ortiz, David Brooks Jr, Kelly Armstrong, Meridith Venhaus, Megan Venhaus, Michelle London, Matthew Neuenschwander, Brandy Sorenson and Billy Travis Gatling; fourteen great grandchildren and two great great- grandchildren. 

Merle proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for more than thirty years being medically retired in 1987. 

Graveside services will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024; 1:30 p.m., at Sandia Memory Gardens, 9500 San Pedro Drive NE, 87113.
