There are some people who leave footprints on our hearts that can never be erased. Morgan Alexandra Tumlinson was one of those people.
Born on Saturday, June 2, 1990, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Morgan lived her life with a spirit that was unmistakably her own. She was adventurous, strong, independent, loving, and full of life. She loved being outdoors and was happiest when she was moving, exploring, laughing, or trying something new.
Morgan was incredibly athletic and loved the freedom that came with being active. She enjoyed snowboarding, hiking, skateboarding, ballet, and dance classes. In high school, she played softball and was a member of the track team. She had a determination and energy about her that made her capable of taking on almost anything she set her mind to.
But beneath that adventurous spirit was an enormous heart.
Morgan's greatest love was her children - Naomi, Zeb, Matt, and Zeke. Being a mother was a deeply important part of who she was. Her love for her children was fierce, unconditional, and forever. No matter where life took her, her children were always a part of her heart.
Morgan also had a special gift for caring for those who could not care for themselves. She loved animals of every kind and could never easily turn away from one that needed help. She rescued animals that needed a loving home and gave them something they desperately needed: compassion, patience, safety, and love. It was simply who Morgan was. Her heart was big enough to make room for the lost, the frightened, and the forgotten.
She earned her Medical Technician Degree, another reflection of the caring spirit she carried throughout her life. Helping others came naturally to Morgan.
And then there was her love of music.
Morgan loved to DJ, loved music, and enjoyed playing the guitar. Music was one of the many ways she expressed herself and brought joy into her life. She also loved shopping and had a talent for finding bargains. There was something special about the excitement she found in discovering a great deal.
Morgan's life was made up of so many different pieces - the athlete, the adventurer, the musician, the animal rescuer, the bargain hunter, the daughter, the mother, and the friend. Each part of her made her uniquely Morgan.
On Tuesday, September 22, 2026, Morgan left this world far too soon.
There are no words that can truly express the emptiness her passing has left behind. The pain of losing someone we love is the price we pay for having loved them so deeply. And Morgan was deeply loved.
We find comfort in knowing that Morgan is now reunited with her beloved father, Otie Tumlinson, and her beloved son, Zeke Anderson. We can imagine the joy of that reunion - a daughter with her father, a mother with her son, together again beyond the pain and struggles of this life.
But here on earth, Morgan's memory will remain.
She will live on in her children's hearts. She will live on in the stories that are told about her, in the music she loved, in the places she explored, and in every animal she helped. She will live on in the laughter, tears, memories, photographs, and countless little reminders that appear when we least expect them.
She will be missed on the days when we need her most.
She will be missed when a favorite song comes on.
She will be missed when we see something that reminds us of her.
She will be missed in the quiet moments when we wish we could simply pick up the phone and hear her voice again.
But most of all, she will be loved.
May you finally be at peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before you. May you ride, dance, laugh, explore, and be free.
