In Loving Memory of Milly (Melpomeni) Lou di Daskalos

Albuquerque, New Mexico

January 16, 1939 - July 27, 2025

Milly (Melpomeni) Loudi Daskalos was born on January 16, 1939, in Grevena, Greece, to her loving parents, Theodore and Evangelia Loudi. She passed away peacefully, joining her beloved husband, Chris Daskalos, who preceded her in death on August 28, 2024. They were inseparable partners in life and marriage for 66 beautiful years.

Milly is survived by her devoted children: daughter Evangeline Dupas (husband Theodore), and sons George Daskalos (wife Jeannine) and Jimmy Daskalos (wife Nadine). She was a cherished grandmother to Chris Daskalos (wife Lauren), Melody Beck (husband Andrew), Matia, Milania, David, Demetri, Thalia, and Elina Daskalos; George, Katerina, and Christina Dupas; and a beloved great-grandmother to Timmy and Sophie Beck. Milly is also survived by her dear sister Anastasia Georgitsis, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family who loved her deeply.

Milly's love story began when Chris traveled from America back to Grevena and saw her at a class reunion. It was love at first sight and they soon got engaged and married. They married on June 13, 1959, in Grevena and soon after boarded a ship to begin their life together in America. At just 20 years old, Milly left behind her homeland, family, and childhood to start a new chapter with Chris.

Milly was a strikingly beautiful woman with thick, gorgeous hair, and a radiant personality to match. She was incredibly bright, hardworking, and full of life. Milly had a beautiful singing voice and often filled her home with songs while cooking and caring for her family. Together with Chris, she co-owned and operated the Court Cafe restaurant (Albuquerque, New Mexico), becoming successful business owners through their dedication and teamwork.

After retiring from the restaurant business, Milly pursued her passion for people and learning by becoming a realtor. She was known for her hospitality, warmth, and love of cooking, reading, writing, and singing. She especially loved hosting large name-day parties for her husband and entertaining friends and family.

Above all, Milly was a devoted wife, mother, and yiayia. Everything she did was for her husband and her family, whom she adored deeply. When her son George opened a coffee shop in her honor, he named it Milly's. Milly proudly visited the restaurant daily, greeting customers and offering a friendly smile and conversation to all.

Milly had an extraordinary memory and was a storyteller, historian, and source of comfort for all who knew her. She welcomed everyone with open arms and an open heart.

She and Chris traveled extensively, creating unforgettable memories in countries across Europe, the Americas, and beyond. These adventures enriched her life and reflected her belief that the world was meant to be explored and appreciated.

After Chris's passing in 2024, Milly's health began to decline. The love of her life was gone; her heart never fully recovered. We are heartbroken, but we find peace knowing Milly and Chris are reunited once again. She will be remembered always for her love, kindness, strength, generosity and unwavering devotion to family and friends.

May her memory be eternal.
