Mrs. Mildred Irby Weeks of Albuquerque, NM passed away on February 21, 2026, the day after her 99th birthday. She was born on February 20, 1927 in Raton, NM to Arthur Blaine Irby and Ora Belle Victor.
After high school Millie moved to Albuquerque to attend the University of New Mexico. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. She got her degree in Education and used it for 22 years teaching 2nd grade at Colette Park Elementary.
Millie was also a long time member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and involved in many committees there. She loved doing many things, among them were playing Bridge, sewing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. But most of all, she loved her family! The house was always filled with song and laughter. She was a woman of excellent character, always happy and positive, always ready to help, whether it was a person in need or just helping with a project.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Harold Weeks, daughter, Bonnie Otto and infant son, Daniel. Also, her parents and brothers. She is survived by sister, Helen Gambrel of Amarillo, TX., as well as, her daughter, Kathi Weeks Campbell and husband, Dan of Coffee Springs, AL, daughter, Terry Weeks of Albuquerque, son, Don Weeks and wife, Teresa of Rio Rancho, NM, and son Jeff Weeks and his wife, Susan of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Millie will be remembered always and greatly missed.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 2:00 pm, followed by a reception, at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
