Rio Rancho

Beloved wife to Raymond Voos, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at her home in Rio Rancho, NM. She was 82 years old.

Born Monday, October 13, 1941, in Mora, NM, Evelyn was the cherished daughter of Amadeo and Amanda Sanchez. She grew up in Los Alamos, NM, with her two brothers; Amo and Eddie, where she developed a love for the outdoors as well as for her arts and crafts. She was an avid wood carver, stained glass artist and a talented painter.

After completing her Business Administration education at New Mexico Highlands University, Evelyn embarked on a fulfilling career at Los Alamos National Laboratory, touching the lives of many with her dedication and kindness for 33 years prior to her retirement in 1998.

Evelyn epitomized selflessness. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her husband and children, providing them unwavering support, guidance, and unconditional love.

Outside of her family, she was known for her generosity, compassion, and gentle nature. She was a friend to all who met her and will continue to inspire others.

Evelyn is survived by her husband; Raymond, her sons; Tim Voos and his partner, Sara, Eric Voos and his partner, Lori, her brothers; Amo Sanchez, and Eddie Sanchez, her niece; Valerie Kruse, her nephews; Stacy Sanchez, Jeff Sanchez, and Justin Sanchez and her three grandchildren; Cameron Voos, Kay Muller, and Zoe Wales.

She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her infectious laughter, and sarcastic wit will always be remembered. Although she may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Evelyn Voos.
