Mary Elizabeth (Liz) Zint of Albuquerque, NM, entered her eternal home on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, after a brief recovery period following a stroke. She passed peacefully in her sleep.
Born in Memphis, Texas, on January 2, 1939, to Frank Loafman and Audra Edwards, she was the youngest of seven siblings and was the last of them to go home. She and her brothers and sisters were raised in Fort Worth, Texas, where she graduated from Technical High School in 1957.
Liz married Airman 1st Class Robert Zint from Highland Falls, NY, in 1957. Together they raised a son and daughter while military life took them to stops in Texas, Idaho, Arizona, New Mexico, Germany, England, and California. They made Albuquerque their permanent home in 1981.
Throughout her life, Liz cultivated a love of fashion, sewing, and crafting. Her skill earned her countless ribbons at the New Mexico State Fair, and she made high-quality clothes for herself and her children. She eventually hosted an annual craft event called "Lollipop Lane." The event involved her sisters and gave them an opportunity to share their creativity and love of crafting.
Liz also worked as a Cosmetologist in her earlier adult years and later worked for Kirtland Federal Credit Union for 22 years, helping to open new branches and eventually rising to the position of head teller.
Perhaps most notable, though, was Liz's deep Christian faith and her love for Jesus. A longtime member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church, she shared a rich and full life with her beloved husband, Bob, who cherished her greatly. Together, they raised their children, traveled the world, and maintained meaningful friendships throughout the years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Audra Edwards, her brothers: Welcome Edwards, TF Edwards, Foy Edwards, and her sisters: Lois White, Patsy Cooper, and Bobbi Reeves.
Liz is survived by her husband of 69 years, Robert Zint, of Albuquerque; her son, Robert Zint Jr., and his spouse, Corinne French, of Valley View, Texas; and her daughter, Sydonna Urquidi, and her spouse, Ulysses, of El Paso, Texas. Also among her surviving family is Robert Jr.'s former spouse, Teri Hilliard-Zint, of Pottsboro, Texas, who is the mother of four of Liz's grandchildren.
Liz's grandchildren are Benjamin Urquidi, Allison Urquidi, Taylor Zint, Tanner Zint, Mallory Farrell, and Olivia Copeland. She also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren: Jameson, Preston, Logan, Genevieve, Andrew, Jane, Charlie, and Kate.
A private family gathering will take place before cremation in Albuquerque, NM. Liz will then be laid to rest in El Paso, Texas.
