Mary Ann (Gonzales) Ouellette

Mary Ann (Gonzales) Ouellette, 81, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully of natural causes on September 8, 2026, in Albuquerque.

Mary Ann was born on February 24, 1945, in Sedillo, New Mexico, to Reynaldo and Clarita Gonzales. She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Herve Ouellette, on September 3, 1966, in Albuquerque. Together, they built a life centered on family, love, and shared experiences. Bob preceded her in death on December 6, 2015.

Mary Ann dedicated 31 years of her professional life to Sandia Laboratory Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, where she worked as a Financial Institution Advisor before retiring in 2012. During the latter part of her career, she also spent time working in the fraud department-a role that ensured family members knew better than to try anything funny with her. She was also an active member of the Credit Women Association both before and after retirement. Through her professional and organizational involvement, she enjoyed meeting people, attending events, and traveling to different destinations.

Travel was also a meaningful part of Mary Ann's life with Bob. While he worked with Equitable Insurance, she accompanied him to work-related functions, giving them many memorable experiences together in New Mexico and beyond. She also enjoyed road trips with her "Credit Women" friends and treasured the time they spent together.

Above all, Mary Ann was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was immensely proud of her only son, Brian Ouellette, who would always be her "little boy." Although Brian and his family made their home in Columbus, Indiana, Mary Ann remained closely connected to them and cherished her place in their lives. Visits from Brian, Kim, and their sons, Preston and Clayton, to Albuquerque for the Balloon Fiesta brought her great joy, giving her treasured family time and the special blessing of sharing New Mexico's Southwestern beauty, culture, and hot air balloons with Kim, Preston, and Clayton for the first time. She also especially cherished a 2022 visit from her oldest granddaughter, Kinsley, who held a very special place in her heart.

Mary Ann loved bringing family and friends together. She especially enjoyed hosting get-togethers at her home, where good food, conversation, and time with loved ones were always at the center. She welcomed everyone with warmth and genuine interest, and to Mary Ann, no one was ever a stranger. The many gatherings she and Bob hosted created treasured memories that will remain with her loved ones for years to come.

Mary Ann enjoyed collecting and creating beautiful Christmas displays. She had a large collection of Snow Babies and Department 56 village pieces and took great pleasure in designing and assembling her holiday scenes. She personally crafted many of the scenery pieces, adding her own creativity and care to the displays that brought her so much joy. Her Christmas displays remained up year-round for everyone to enjoy.

Mary Ann also had a deep love for the Dallas Cowboys and was an avid, devoted fan who enjoyed following the team. She also had a special fondness for lighthouses, reflecting the many things she enjoyed collecting and admiring throughout her life.

She was also a loving and caring "fur mommy" to her dog Cookie, who brought her constant companionship and happiness.

Mary Ann is survived by her son, Brian Ouellette, and his wife, Kim; her grandsons, Preston and his wife, Deidree, and Clayton and his wife, Samantha; and her great-grandchildren: Kenton, Kinsley, Jadelynn, Skylin, Gunnar, and Blakely, children of Preston and Deidree; and Winston and Caroline, children of Clayton and Samantha.

She is also survived by her sisters, Sandra (Gonzales) Martinez and her husband, Michael Martinez; Rafaelita (Gonzales) Alderete and her husband, Licho Alderete; and Carol Gonzales; as well as her brothers, Joe "Mony" Gonzales and his wife, Alice Gonzales; Harrold Gonzales and his wife, Joyce Gonzales; and Reynaldo "Rey" Gonzales Jr., plus several nieces, nephews, and cousins from both sides of our family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Herve Ouellette, and her brother, Victor Gonzales.

Mary Ann will be remembered for her loving and caring nature, her devotion to family, her welcoming spirit, and the joy she found in bringing people together. She created a home where family and friends always felt welcome, and her memory will live on through the family she cherished, the gatherings she hosted, and the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
