Mary Pauline Nilsen

Mary Nilsen of Albuquerque passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 surrounded by her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vivian; and her grandson, Noah Davis.  She is survived by her children, Terry Montoya (Weegee), Stephen Nilsen (Deanna), Brenda Gabaldon (Dennis), Trisha Davis (Zach); grandchildren, Vanessa Baack (Paul), Amber Cantwell (Paul), Natalie Montoya, Cassidy Reed (John), Casey Martin (Kohl), Austin Gabaldon (Brittany), Crystal Armstrong (Nik), Kelly Gabaldon (Josh), Nolan Gabaldon (Karissa), Ashlin Gabaldon, Aydin Davis; great grandchildren, Nathan, Kaleb, Jase, Kinslee, Christian, Hannah, Jackson, Stephen, Cooper, Parker, Bailee and Logan.  Mary is also survived by Katrina, Adam, Jason and Gemma Wagner, Rey Marquez; three sisters; two brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a public viewing from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. before the Rosary on Thursday, July 16, 2020, 6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas.  Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 17, 2020, 11:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption Parish, Lomas and Tennessee.  Interment will take place at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Saturday, July 18, 2020.  Pallbearers will be Austin Gabaldon, Nolan Gabaldon, Zach Davis, Paul Baack, Paul Cantwell, Derek Tierney; Honorary Pallbearers are Weegee Montoya, Dennis Gabaldon, Aydin Davis, Nik Armstrong, Kohl Martin, John Reed, and Josh Rede.

Mary loved attending Lobo basketball games and had season tickets since The Pit was built and she also enjoyed going to the Mountain West Conference in Las Vegas.  She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  Mary enjoyed going to the horse races and playing cartoon at the Casino.  She loved to dance.  She made the best fried eggs with green chili and homemade pies.  She would host the annual Christmas Eve party and everyone was welcome.  More than anything Mary loved her family.  Mary will be missed by all who loved her.
