Mary Ellen (Hankins) McEntee

February 10, 1938 — November 15, 2017

McEntee, Mary Ellen

Mary Ellen McEntee got away Wednesday, November 15, 2017. She passed away due to complications of living just shy of 80 years. She was sick and tired of being sick and tired so after all her immediate family and friends made it to her home to kiss her, she let go and went to the Lord. Born February 10, 1938 in Shawnee, OK, Mary Ellen Hankins married Mac McEntee and escaped Oklahoma in 1965 moving to Albuquerque where she lived the remainder of her life. She and Mac raised two sons during 47 years of marriage until Mac's death in 2007. She retired from a long and successful career in the florist industry where she found her niche, ‘she could sell ice to eskimos’. An outstanding public speaker, Mary was a leader in the industry commentating flower shows, conferences and conventions. A devout catholic, Mary received an Apostolic Pardon and her priest told her she was going straight to Heaven so she got away convinced Canonization would commence shortly. Mary Ellen is survived by her loving family consisting of son, Mike McEntee and wife, Michelle; their children, Brianna McEntee, Colin and wife, Teresa and their children Murphy and Reagan; son, Pat McEntee and wife Susan, their children Liam and Jordan; brother, David Hankins and family; sister, Jeannine Hughes and her family. She also leaves behind her dear friends Judy Bailey, Al Schnoebelen, Pam Bolin and Lois Trim. A Rosary will be prayed Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 8:30 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette with Funeral Mass following at 9:00 am. An Irish-style wake will ensue later that day at Mary's home maps will be available at the church. Please visit our online guestbook for Mary Ellen at www.FrenchFunerals.com.
