Mary Fraide

Mary H. Fraide, loving wife, devoted mother, and beloved Nana, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on May 30, 2025, at the age of 94. Mary was born in Madrid, New Mexico, on October 8, 1930, to Juan and Rose Pena.

She attended Madrid High School and graduated in 1949. As a young woman, she worked at the Madrid Supply Company in the soda fountain shop, where her warmth and kindness were evident to all who knew her.

Mary met her future husband, Everardo Fraide Jr., in elementary school, Their bond endured through the years, and on September 4, 1954, they were married. They moved to Albuquerque to begin their life together and raise their growing family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Everardo Fraide Jr., and her beloved daughter, Margaret McMullin. She is survived by her children: Johanna Loftis, Roberta Kelley, Darlene Montoya , and Tom and Deborah Fraide; her 10 grandchildren: JD, Kristal, Jeff, Tate, Chris, Dustin, Nick, Kaili, Cody, and Braiden; and 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Anne Arnold and Josephine Rendon, and their families.

A woman of deep faith, Mary was a devoted Catholic who loved her family fiercely. Her home was filled with warmth, laughter, and the smell of her famous hot tortillas. She found joy in embroidering, reading and above all, spending time with her grandchildren-whom she lovingly spoiled with their favorite meals and endless affection.

Mary will be remembered for her unwavering love, generous spirit, and the gentle strength she showed in every part of her life. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her family and all who were blessed to know her.

In her final message to her family, Mary wrote:

"To my family:

Always remember I love you.

Pray everyday without ceasing, and know God loves you.

Repent and know Jesus is your Lord and Savior.
