Mary B. Lovato Cox

Mary B. Lovato Cox, born September 26, 1931, entered into eternal rest on November 18, 2025, at the age of 94. Surrounded by loved ones and strengthened by her unwavering Catholic faith, Mary returned peacefully to our Lord, whom she served faithfully throughout her life. 

Mary lived a life rooted in deep faith and devoted service. She was an active and cherished member of San Felipe de Neri Catholic Church--always willing to lend a hand, offer a prayer, or serve in any way needed. Alongside her husband, Mary worked tirelessly to operate the family's construction and demolition business and to manage their apartments.

Mary raised a large and loving family, and her home was the heart of countless gatherings. She was an extraordinary cook, a generous host, and an enthusiastic gardener. She was a devoted mother, loyal friend, beloved auntie, and treasured grandmother whose presence was a steady source of comfort and love. 

She is survived by her children, Loretta Krein and husband, Mel, Therese and husband, David, Wilson and wife, Martina, and David; her grandchildren, Michele, Jason, Sharon, David Jr., Timothy, Patrick, Melissa, Miranda, Jeremy, Nickolaus, and Louie; and her siblings, Hellen Valles and John Lovato; and many loving nieces and nephews. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Francisco and Fransica Lovato; her husband, Wilson W. Cox; her siblings, Louise Cox-Garlock, Senobia Solano, Isidro Lovato, Ernestine Ortiz, Anastacio Lovato, and Livorio Lovato; and nephews, Ernest Solano and Buddy Edwards. 

A rosary will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2025, 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., at San Felipe de Neri Parish, 2005 North Plaza Street NW. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
