Mary R. Chavez

Mary Rose Chavez, 85, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, joined our Lord in Heaven on Monday, September 2, 2019. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Patrocinio Chavez. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Antonio F. Chavez; son, Antonio M. Chavez (Sallie); son, Lorenzo Chavez (Dolores); son, Charles Chavez; daughter, Veronica Garner (Kevin). Mary had five grandchildren, Joshua Chavez; Corey Chavez (Marisa); Jennifer Fernandez (Damian); Michael Chavez (Keya); Derek Chavez (Shelby) and great-granddaughter Kalaya Chavez.

Mary was born on December 16, 1933 in Las Vegas NM. She married the love of her life May 4, 1954 and they raised their five children in Albuquerque. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Legion of Mary and the Blue Army. Mary volunteered her time to the church, to her children’s schools and was in the Spanish Choir at St. Charles Church. Mary’s happy and affectionate nature will be greatly missed.

A Mass in Mary’s honor will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2019, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Schedule for the day is as follows:

Visitation: 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Our Lady of Fatima Church
Rosary: 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Our Lady of Fatima Church
Mass: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Our Lady of Fatima Church
Graveside Service:  2:15 p.m.  – 3:15 p.m. Santa Fe National Cemetery
