Marvin Gene Parker

September 15, 1948 — May 10, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marvin "Marv" Parker, who was lovingly called Marvin by those close to him. Born on Wednesday, September 15, 1948, Marvin sadly left us on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. He now joins his predeceased parents, Eugene and Irene Parker; and sisters, Sue Wheeler, Shirley Miller, and Kathy Wright. Marvin's memory will continue to be cherished by his wife, Janet Parker, whom he married in 1980, and their daughters Cassandra Tilden and Priscilla Sieben.
Marvin was a loving father-in-law to Brian Tilden; and a beloved brother to both David and Danny Parker. As a proud grandfather, Marvin will be remembered by his grandchildren, Julian, Justin, and Kiana Sieben, as well as Jordan, Audrey, and Brooke Tilden.
A Funeral Service honoring Marvin's Life will be held on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 9:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery with Military honors.
Marvin's interests were as unique as his personality. His favorite TV shows, Bones, X-Files, and Big Bang Theory, reflected his diverse tastes, as did his favorite movies, The Matrix and the works of Bruce Lee. In his downtime, he enjoyed playing word search games and listening to the music of Enya, Fleetwood Mac, and Stevie Nicks. Marvin found joy in the simple things, like carpentry, fishing, fixing things, and driving to a new place just to explore.
He favored the colors blue and appreciated Janet's homemade enchiladas paired with a refreshing raspberry tea. A true outdoorsman, Marvin loved vacationing in the mountains and staying active through weightlifting.
Marvin's spunky, one-of-a-kind, and sincere personality touched the lives of everyone he met. He shared valuable lessons like putting family first, being kind to others, respecting oneself, and helping those in need. His greatest accomplishment was ensuring that his family and friends felt safe and cared for.
In his passing, Marvin leaves behind a legacy of kindness and generosity. Though out of sight, he will forever remain in our hearts, never forgotten.
