Marty Martinez

Marty Lee Martinez was born November 15, 1966 at Sandia Base Hospital in Albuquerque. He went to Ranchvale Elementary in Clovis NM. He went to Manzano high school  and was in the marching band and graduated in 1984. While attending he did Drama/ Speech and Art. He took a class trip to Europe.

He graduated from UNM with a bachelor's degree in fine arts/arts Studio and Science. For many years he has been employed at UNM as the Recreational Service Coordinator, since 1990. Marty is very artistic and has done the artwork and graphics for events and trips as well as the planning of these events and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his father Reynald J. Martinez. He is survived by his mother Evelyn Martinez, his sisters Eve "Gary" Moody, Teresa "Kraig" Kirby, his brothers Reynald Martinez, David "Linda" Martinez, his nephews Roman Kirby, Jason Martinez, Brandon Moody, and his grandnephew Eric Kirby. All are from Albuquerque except the Moodys which are from California.

A memorial service to honor Marty will be held on December 1, 2025, at FRENCH Lomas. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m providing an opportunity for family, friends, and the community to come together to pay their respects and share in the celebration of his life.
