Jewel Ritchie

Martha Jewel Ritchie, born on December 17, 1933, in Marianna, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was a devoted homemaker, who dedicated her life to caring for her family and creating a warm and loving home environment. Martha was the wife of an Air Force Lieutenant Colonel and resided in various states and even twice in Japan throughout her life.Martha was a passionate animal lover, having shared her life with 13 dogs, the majority of whom were Golden Retrievers, with eight of them being rescues. Her love for these loyal companions brought her immense joy and comfort. A resident of Glenwood Hills, Albuquerque, she found solace in the beauty of the New Mexico mountains, often exploring the great outdoors. In addition to her love for animals and nature, Martha was an avid reader and enjoyed going to garage sales and hunting for bargains. She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Ritchie and Trey Ritchie; her granddaughter, Nicole Nicholls; her grandsons, Chad Ritchie and David Roberts; and several great-grandchildren. Most importantly, Martha was a devout Christian whose faith guided her life and actions. Cremation will take place at 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87107. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Martha's life and cherish her memories in a future memorial service, details to be announced.
