Martha Lauden

Our mother Martha went to Heaven on June 12, 2018


Martha Delle Ainsworth Lewis Lauden was born on January 1, 1934, being the first baby born in Fort Worth, TX in 1934. She grew up to on a ranch around Lawn, TX with her sister Peggy and brothers John and Tex. She met her husband George Harvey Lewis at Tarlton State. They married December 20, 1953.

She was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for a time. Martha went to work for the State of Texas in 1961 and retired in 1987 after working her way up in the comptroller’s office. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Harvey Lewis, who passed away on March 27, 1989.


She is survived by her three children, LaDelle L. Williams, John T. Lewis and Lucretia Lewis; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She later met and married Wayne Lauden on October 23, 1997.


Martha’s final resting place will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with George Harvey Lewis.
