Mark Alan Diamond

Mark Alan Diamond passed away peacefully at home on Monday, June 27, 2016 from complications with liver cancer. He was 69 years of age.
Born April 26, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY, Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Henrietta and Bernard Diamond. Alongside his wife, Ellen, Mark founded Mark Diamond's Jewelers, a local, family owned jewelry store serving Albuquerque for over 40 years. Mark served as President of the New Mexico Jewelers Association and was an award-winning jewelry designer. Mark enjoyed his many years in the store, designing custom jewelry and having the opportunity to be a part of creating wonderful memories for his clients.
When not in the store, Mark enjoyed being an active participant of the National Corvette Restorers Society as well as a member of Congregation B'nai Israel of Albuquerque and Temple Albert. Mark loved golf and made many memories traveling the world with Ellen.
Mark leaves behind his wife, Ellen Victor Diamond, as well as his daughter, Michelle Diamond-Reece, and her husband, Jeffrey. Mark is survived by his sister, Robin Diamond Getz, her husband Michael, and their daughter, Shelli Getz.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2016, 10:00 a.m., at Congregation B'nai Israel, 4401 Indian School Rd. NE, Albuquerque, 87110. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Congregation B'nai Israel of Albuquerque, Temple Albert of Albuquerque, or Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation's Cancer Fund.
