In Loving Memory of Marjorie E. Ulrich
July 14, 1927 - July 28, 2025
On July 28, 2025, Marjorie E. Ulrich quietly slipped away from this world, journeying to reunite with her beloved mother, father, and six cherished brothers who awaited her with open arms. Born Marjorie E. Sangret on July 14, 1927, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan, she was welcomed into the world by Norman and Edith Sangret. Marjorie grew up in a bustling household, the only daughter among seven children. In 1949, Marjorie married Frank Gear in her hometown, beginning an extraordinary adventure that would take her far from the prairies of Saskatchewan. As an Air Force wife, she embraced a life of frequent moves, transforming each new posting into a warm and loving home. She and Frank built memories in: Tucson, Arizona, Spokane, Washington, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (twice), San Santonio, Texas (twice), various cities in France, Rapid City, South Dakota, and Travis AFB, CA.
After her marriage to Frank ended, and following the untimely loss of her second husband, Earl Ulrich, Marjorie chose to settle in Albuquerque. There, she found solace and joy in the art of ballroom dancing, a passion that brought sparkle to her days and lasting friendships to her life. To support her family and her passion for dance, Marjorie built a career in retail jewelry. She began as an associate at Value House, moved on to the jewelry counter at Broadway, and completed her career at Macy's, where she retired.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Norman Sangret, and by her brothers: Stan, Lloyd, Ernie, Huey, Leonard, and Wesley. Theirs is a joyful reunion, surely filled with stories and laughter.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and resilience in her sons, James and Dan Gear; her daughter-in-law, Beverly Gear; her grandchildren, Brady and Lindsay Gear; and her great-grandchildren, Hunter and Harper Gear. Also mourning her loss and celebrating her life is a dear friend, Dede Gear, as well as a host of friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held September 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Church of the Risen Savior. All who knew her are invited to gather, to share stories and memories, and to honor a life that touched so many. A light reception to follow.
