THOMSON, MARJORIE R., age 85, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012. She is survived by her daughters, Carol Matsutani and husband, Ken; Jan Thomson; Mary Ingham and husband, Stewart; Kathy Stewart and husband, Otis; Elizabeth Thomson and husband, Leo Hollins, Jr.; Barbara Ayres and husband, Fenton; 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Taylor and wife, Janine; sister, Norma Peters and husband, Paul; daughter-in-law, Viola; brother-in-law, Carney Nelson; and many other family and friends including her faithful canine companion, Rosie. Mrs. Thomson was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Junior George JG Thomson; parents, Paul Lester and Nora Marie Taylor; her sister, Jean Nelson and her son, Mark. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Crownpoint, NM and Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She served our country in the WAC as a Nurse during WWII. Marjorie was director of nursing for the Indian Health Services Hospital in Crownpoint and a nurse at Carrie Tingley Hospital, both for many years. She was a member of the Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club, New Mexico Autism Society where she served on the Board, and a faithful Lobo basketball fan. She was a member of the DOVES Coordinating Council. Marge was always a strong advocate for the underdog. A Rosary will be recited 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 25, 2012 at French - Lomas Chapel. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 26, 2012, at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Lomas and Tennessee, Albuquerque. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Wednesday. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Friends may visit French - Lomas Chapel Monday, June 25, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roadrunner Food Bank ( www.rrfb.org ) or the Albuquerque Northeast Lions Club, 2818 Pennsylvania NE, Albuquerque NM 87110.
