Marilyn (Lynn) M. Dibler Leigh, a resident of Albuquerque since 1969, passed away November 13, 2018 at the age of 94.
Born July 3, 1924 in Woodstock, IL, daughter of Rose Vogel and George Henry Dibler. Marilyn was raised by her paternal grandparents, Mary and Lincoln Dibler after the death of her birth mother. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Duran; and survived by Debbie’s daughter, Aimee Duran (granddaughter) also survived by her daughter, Pamela Leigh who has lovingly cared for her over the many years.
Marilyn attended Illinois Wesleyan University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Marilyn joined TWA (Trans World Airlines) as a Hostess in January 1946. Her first flight was into Albuquerque, thru Tijeras Canyon pass, in a DC-3. Her most memorable flight was a crash landing at La Guardia Airport, NY flying in a then considered Giant Boeing Stratoliner. While flying for TWA, she met her husband, pilot Stuart R. Leigh. Over the years, she was an active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Cosmopolitan Woman’s Club, TWA clipped wings and Seniors; in addition to many years of volunteering. She enjoyed her bridge groups and her Miniature Schnauzer dogs. Mom, we love and miss you deeply.
Cremation has taken place and private services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be joining her husband Col. Stuart R. Leigh, USMC.
