Marilyn L. Bevan (née Whittaker), 90, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 25, 1935, in Springfield, Illinois, to Howard Whittaker and Hazel Cheeseman. On April 11, 1954 in Fort Madison, Iowa, she married the love of her life, Rees J. Bevan. Together they shared over seventy years of marriage.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Marilyn was an active member of St. Paul's Methodist Church in Albuquerque, where she gave generously of her time and heart. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and served faithfully on the Family Promise Team and the Prayer Ministry Team.

For many years, Marilyn built a rewarding career as a real estate agent, known for her integrity, and genuine care for the people she helped.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband of 72 years, Rees J. Bevan; her sons, Rees Bevan Jr. (Marie) and Jeff Bevan (Helena); her grandchildren, Jared Bevan (Rachel), Heath Bevan (Nicole), Malia Buhl (Greg) and Mia; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Noah, Sawyer, Easton, Preston, Presley, Addison, Theodore, and Thomas. She is also survived by her brother, Earl Whittaker (Marilyn), and her sister, Fran Burns.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard Whittaker and Hazel Cheeseman; step-father Woodrow Cheeseman; her brother, Woodrow Cheeseman; and her sister, Marjorie Henschke.

Marilyn will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of grace that will live on in the hearts of her family for generations.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2PM Sunday, August 16, at St Paul's Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Marshall officiating.
