Marie Annette Ortega

Marie Annette Ortega, 62, of Los Lunas, New Mexico passed away on Sunday, October 18th, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her battle, Marie displayed incredible courage and unwavering hope, surrounded by the family she cherished so deeply.

On April 19th, 1964, she was born to Albert and Gloria Jackson in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Marie is survived by her devoted husband, David Ortega of 42 years; two children, Nadine Najar (Matthew Najar), of Las Vegas, NV and Nathan Ortega of Los Lunas; one grandchild, Matthew J. Najar Jr.; as well as siblings, Carmen Jackson, Steve Jackson, Alfred Jackson, Donald Jackson, Jeff Jackson, and John Jackson; along with many other nieces, nephews, family and friends who will sadly miss her.

Marie was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Jackson; and her in-laws, Tony and Flora Ortega.

A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, October 27, 2026, 9:30 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Parish, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. A Graveside Service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
