Maria Evangeline (Jean), 86, passed away at home surrounded by family on May 24, 2024. Maria was born to Erminio and Tomasita Quirina C. DeBaca on February 28, 1938, in Albuquerque, NM. She is survived by her daughter Victoria J. Martinez and husband Mardoqueo of Edgewood, daughter Julienne R. Leathers and husband Larry of Albuquerque, daughter Therese Marie Cole and husband Justin of Edgewood, daughter-in love Minerva (Minnie) Martinez of Houston, Tx, son-in love Harold W. Cole II, grandchildren: Evangeline J Gibson and husband John, Mardoqueo J. Martinez III and wife Lauren. Victoria Elyse Tidwell and husband Jason, Michelle Martinez and husband Richard, grandson-in love Eric Castillo, Jovan A. Gabaldon and wife Taylor, Harold W Cole III, Troy P. Cole, great-grandchildren: Alexis M. Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez III, Adalynn Irene Castillo, Eric Castillo Jr. and Calyx P. Gabaldon.
Maria (Jean) was reunited in heaven with her husband William M. Hunter, Raul S. Martinez, sisters Irene Foster and Rosina (Holly) Hayden, son Raul Andres Martinez, granddaughter Danielle Irene Castillo.
Maria (Jean) loved to travel, she could keep you occupied for hours with her stories about Paris and Scotland. She was very accomplished with a fishing pole and could out-fish any one.
Maria (Jean) loved her family. She loved her children. She was just as comfortable on the streets of Paris as she was on the bank of the San Juan River. She was a loving mother, friend & will be sincerely missed.A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 12:00pm at French Funerals - Lomas.
