Erdman

Maria Josephina "Josie" Erdman, age 86, a longtime resident of Albuquerque since 1942, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.
Josie was born on April 28, 1940, in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, to Nicholas and Placida Madrid. She was the beloved wife of the love of her life, Otto T. Erdman, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.
She is survived by her husband, Otto; her sons, Daniel Erdman and his wife, Leoni, and Leonard Erdman and his wife, Kymberly; 12 cherished grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Larry and Dennis Erdman, and by her brother, Tony Madrid. She is also survived by her brothers, Eddie and Eugene Madrid, along with their families.
Josie graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1958 and began her career with Mountain Bell Telephone Company, where she worked from 1958 until 1977. Following her retirement, she devoted herself to caring for her son Larry, a role she embraced with unwavering love, compassion, and dedication.
In 1994, Josie and Otto fulfilled a lifelong dream by establishing their own travel agency, CruiseOne, which they proudly owned and operated together until 2021. Through their business, they not only helped countless families create lasting memories but also enjoyed traveling and exploring the world together.
More than anything, Josie was devoted to her family. She was known for her nurturing heart, her incredible cooking, and her ability to bring everyone together around the table. She never missed an opportunity to check in with those she loved, making sure everyone was doing well and never letting anyone doubt how much they meant to her. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness, and her greatest joy was caring for her family.
Josie's kindness, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family leave a legacy that will continue through the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered
