Margaret Hidalgo

August 9, 1938 — July 8, 2025

Albuquerque

Just last December, about six short months ago, we were vacationing in Vegas, doing what you most enjoyed: playing the nickel keno. Then shocking news in January - cancer had started in your kidneys, spread to your lungs, and was now on the superhighway to the rest of your body via the lymph nodes. The docs predicted six months. You passed two days before the six-month mark, and one month before your 87th birthday. Your marriage to Dad was solid and loving. As a family, we looked out for each other, and your two boys always knew they could count on Mom (and Dad). You worked hard, loved unconditionally, and you were the "glue" that kept everything and everyone together. You created a wonderful home and life for your family. I hope you felt your life was wonderful, too.

How does a "momma's boy" like me say goodbye? Nobody will ever love me to the extent, or in the same way that you did. All I can do is hope you always felt loved. You were my buddy, my parent, but most of all, you were my friend. I enjoyed our adventures, the laughter, and I appreciated your support during the difficult times. I love you, Mommie Dearest.

Margie is survived by her eldest son, Jose "Tony" Hidalgo, Jr. and her granddaughter "T", her momma's boy, Ron Hidalgo, and Ron's husband, John Paterson. Other survivors include her "nurse" Scooter, Kamir, Uno and Ben. Margie had a heart of gold. She was genuine. Margaret Hidalgo will be missed.

Please share memories of Margie and message of condolence with her family in the guestbook below.
