Marcia Helene Smith, born on July 20, 1946, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2026. A beloved mother, sister, and friend, Marcia's warmth and compassion touched the lives of those around her. She is survived by her devoted daughter, Candice Moreno, and son-in-law, Gabriel Moreno, along with her sisters, Phyllis Quintana and Sylvia Richards, and their families, including her brother-in-law Uvaldo Quintana and sister-in-law Sharon Jansen.
Marcia was a dedicated Executive Assistant in the financial planning sector, working with Lakeridge Wealth Management until her retirement in December 2025. Her commitment to client service was unparalleled, and she found joy in every interaction, always going the extra mile to ensure that clients felt valued and cared for.
Her friends and family will remember her as a kind and loving person. Marcia had a zest for life that included traveling, shopping, and cherishing time spent with loved ones. She also found joy in the little things, like enjoying tacos from Duran's Station and spending time with her grand dog, Archie.
In celebrating Marcia's life, we honor the amazing mother and friend she was to so many. Her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know her. The love she imparted and the memories created will be cherished by all. Marcia's loss will be felt profoundly, but her light will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
A private family goodbye will be held on July 28, 2026, at 1:00 pm, followed by cremation. Join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman whose essence can never be captured in mere words.
Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Helen Jansen, her brother Paul Jansen, her husband Frank Smith, and her brother-in-law Will Richards.
