She was born in Tajique, New Mexico, on May 12th, 1946, to Lorenzo and Carlota Otero.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Gertrude Griego; brothers, Archie, Joe, Porfie, and Alex Otero; and her son, Rom Lujan.
Marcie is survived by her loving daughter, Anna Lujan-Holmes, and her son-in-law, Aaron Holmes; her son, Renaul Lujan; and her soulmate, Ismael Montanez. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: DJ Lopez and his life partner, Carla, Matthew and Malachi Benavidez, Isaiah and Alyssa Gurule; her sister, Bessie Garcie; her brother, Tony Otero; and many extended family members and friends who will forever remember her grace, strength, and unconditional love.
She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose quiet wisdom and fierce heart held her family together through both joy and sorrow.
Marcie was known for her elegance, her love of dancing, and her deep faith. She was especially devoted to Saint Jude, her spiritual protector and source of strength. She brought light to those around her with her calm presence, sharp wit, and deep compassion.
She loved and often wore the royal color purple, highlighting the confidence and quiet fierceness she carried with her. She enjoyed music, family gatherings, and thrifting for her incredibly curated outfits. Marcie loved spending time at the casinos and routinely traveled to visit her loved ones, sharing stories that kept family traditions alive. Her home was always a place of welcome, filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting smell of home cooking.
She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
