Lupie Chavez, 92, passed away on February 10, 2016. Lupie was born and raised in Old Town. She had been very active at San Felipe Church. At one point, she owned and operated her own hair salon in Old Town Plaza (El Patio).
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Larry; son, Ralph (Vincent); daughters, Linda (Frank) Martinez and Mary Rita (Greg) Riewe; six grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sister, Cecelia Blea of California; and many nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. at San Felipe de Neri Church, 2005 N. Plaza St. NW, mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Honorary Pallbearers are: Devon, Isaac, Ryan, Nicholas, Estevan, Jordan, Isaiah, and Shiloh.
