Louie Simon Jaramillo, 84, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Born on October 6, 1941, Louie lived a life defined by devotion to his family, hard work, and kindness. He shared 63 years of marriage with his wife, Irene Jaramillo. The two moved to Alamogordo in 1962 where Louie worked for NewTec out of White Sands Missile Range for over 52 years. Together, they built a home filled with love and cherished memories, where family was always at the center of their lives. Louie found his greatest joy in watching his sons and grandchildren play sports and traveling to all their games.

Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Louis O. Jaramillo and Edwina D. Jaramillo; and his brothers, Larry Jaramillo and Robert Jaramillo.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Irene Jaramillo; his sons, Eugene Jaramillo (Maria), Roger Jaramillo, and Tony Jaramillo (Darian); his brothers, Norman Jaramillo (Claudette), Florencio Jaramillo (Clara), Kenneth Jaramillo (Elma), and Richard Jaramillo; his sisters, Marie Blea (Danny), Corrine Pino and sister-in-law Carol Jaramillo. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Louie was a proud and loving grandfather to Lauren (Jon), Lucas, Audra, Adrienne (Josh), Taylor, and Lauren. He was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

Louie will be remembered for his love for his family, his generous heart, his quiet strength, and the wisdom he shared with those around him. Although his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort knowing that his love and guidance will continue to inspire them for many years.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Louie's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Cebolleta (Seboyeta), New Mexico. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Louie's life. The Jaramillo family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the prayers, love, and support shown during this difficult time.
