Lorna Maurer

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna Yvonne Maurer, a vibrant spirit and devoted caregiver, who left this world peacefully on September 2, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 13, 1935, in Cheyene River, South Dakota, Lorna's extraordinary zest for life would eventually draw her to Bosque Farms, New Mexico, where she cultivated a legacy of love and compassion that will resonate with all who knew her.

Lorna was devoted to God with a deep faith which she reflected in her love and care of others. Lorna dedicated her life to caring for others, serving as a Family Life Provider for her grandson Robby, where her nurturing nature shone brightly. A remarkable woman, she embodied kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a hand or an ear to those in need. Her love extended beyond her family to include many beloved friends. Also, countless rescue animals-both cats and dogs-that found a warm and loving home in her heart.

Lorna is survived by her loving sons and spouses, Carey and Connie, Duke and Diane, Kirk and Karen, Wade, and Robert and Chellie, as well as her only daughter, Dawn Berthold. She was also blessed with 19 Grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.

Lorna's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit will be cherished forever.

Lorna was preceded in death by: her husband Arthur Maurer, her parents Joseph and Alice Roach. Also, beloved granddaughters Stephanie and Marissa and Grandsons, Robby and Trevor.

A funeral service will take place on Monday, September 22, 2025 at French Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE at 9:30 AM. Following this a graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery 11:00 AM.
