Lorenzo G. Espinosa, born May 24, 1944, passed away on July 14, 2026, in

Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his parents, Antonio Gilberto Espinosa and

Catherine Delgado Espinosa.

He is survived by his son, Lo-Sun Espinosa, and daughter-in-law, Amanda; his siblings,

Tony Espinosa and wife Debbie, Maggie McDonald and husband Norm, and Cathy

Rugen; and his former wife, Dorothy Barela. He is also survived by numerous nieces,

nephews, and cousins.

Lorenzo attended Saint Mary's Elementary School in Albuquerque and Campion Jesuit

High School in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. He graduated from the Abbey in Cañon

City, Colorado. He served in the United States Army, including one year in Vietnam.

After his military service, he earned a bachelor's degree from the University of New

Mexico and completed graduate work toward a master's degree at the same institution.


Lorenzo was a well-known figure in Albuquerque's music scene as the owner of Wild

West Music. After the store closed, he worked for UNM Continuing Education until his

retirement. He was deeply devoted to his Catholic faith, particularly his adoration of the

Virgin Mary, and was a strong advocate for the pro-life cause.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at San

Ignacio Church in Albuquerque. The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. prior to the

Mass.
