On Sunday, May 7, 1950 in Lamesa, Texas, a baby girl was born to Solomon "Buster" James Garnett and Emorine Wilson. She was the second child of four children. They named her Linda Kaye Garnett. Linda received her early childhood education in Lamesa, and later relocated to Odessa,Texas, where she would attend Ector High School and graduate in 1968. After graduation, Linda was employed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for several years at the Medical Center Hospital. Linda later worked for the Department of Transportation for the Ector County Independent School District from 1978-1990.
In 1990, Linda met the love of her life, Mr. Clarence Medlock Sr., and they relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico. On September 17, 1991 they decided their two hearts should beat as one. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Medlock Sr. would make Albuquerque their home. Together they raised their children, and joined Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, where Dennis G. Dunn is Pastor. While in Albuquerque, Linda was employed by the City of Albuquerque Public Transportation Division in 2000 until her retirement in 2014. After retirement, her hobbies included shopping, cooking, and decorating her home. Linda was a woman of style and grace. She was always dressed from head to toe with her hat matching her shoes. She was affectionately called "Baby" by her loving and devoted husband of 32 years. Her children often say "All that we are or ever hope to be, we owe it all to our Mom."
