Linda Gail Dakin

Linda Gail Dakin, 73, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

Born on September 4, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Robert and Ethel Harwell Medley. She carried with her throughout her life the warmth, kindness, and strong values that she learned growing up in South Carolina.

Linda, affectionately known to all as Memaw, found joy in the simple blessings of life. She read her Bible, was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching and feeding the birds, dancing and listening to her favorite music (even in her wheelchair), and loved a good scary movie. Most of all, she treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy and love.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Melissa Godwin (Donald), and Stacie Thompson; Her sisters, Patricia Harmon (David), Bonnie West, and Nikki Pullam (Tony); and her brothers, Steve Medley (Deborah) and Donnie Medley. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who will deeply miss her love, great sense of humor, and gentle spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ethel Medley; her sister, Brenda Kay Brown; and her brothers, Robert Ray Medley and Roger Dale Medley.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at French Funerals & Cremations, 7121 Wyoming Boulevard NE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

The family invites all who wish to honor Linda to join them in celebrating her life and sharing cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Linda's memory to the Alzheimer's Association (https://www.alz.org/) to support research, care, and support for individuals and families affected by Alzheimer's disease.

A Reception to honor Linda Dakin will take place on Monday, 29 June 2026 from 6:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Wyoming Reception Room located at 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109.
