Linda B. Costino passed from life to Life on July 14, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on May 24, 1939, in Haysi, Virginia, to Robert and Trossy Belcher. She graduated from Dobyns Bennett High School and Trinity Washington University. Linda worked for BDM International in Tysons Corner, Virginia, until her retirement. After retirement, she and her husband, Mitch, made their home at Turtle Bay on the north shore of Oahu. In 2013 they moved back to the mainland and enjoyed their home in the Northeast Heights of Albuquerque. In 2021 they relocated to The Montebello on Academy.
Linda was a woman of faith and was active in the congregations where her family lived through the years. She served the Lord in many roles throughout her lifetime as a member of Protestant Chapels on Army posts as well as congregations in the civilian communities in which she resided. As a young parent, she was a Den Mother to her sons in Cub Scouts and supported them in Boy Scouts. She attended Leadership Training at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico, in 1969. Linda married Mitch Costino in 1995. They enjoyed their life in Hawaii, world travels and regular trips to the mainland to visit their family including family reunions at Ocean City, Maryland. Above all else, Linda's greatest joy and pride came from her family. Her love of family was deep and abiding and she cherished each moment with them. Her smile, laughter, and warm embrace will be remembered, as will her sweet voice. Last words are lasting words, and Linda's were those of love and compassion. To live in the Lord's light was the greatest gift and lesson she shared with those who knew her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her younger sister, Janet, and her former husband, Bruce Wilder. She is survived by her husband, Mitch, and their children: Bruce, Jr. and his wife, Kirsten; Shannon; Mark and his wife, Christy; Tina and her husband, Braun; Nick and his wife, Lorena. She is also survived by her sister, Lisa and her husband, John, and their children, Dylan and Shanna. Linda was blessed by her grandchildren, Jessica and her partner Carlo; Emily and her husband, Brian; Meredith and her husband, Ryan; Melinda and her husband, Israel; Cody and his wife, Erinn; Ben and his wife, Jenn; Canyon and his wife, Kate; Rain, Autumn, Beckham and Sienna. She rejoiced in her great-grandchildren, Carson, Landon, Jasper, Everett, Mia, Miles, Fielding, Rhodes and Camila.
A private memorial service will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who would like to do so are invited to make a gift in honor of Linda's life to Foundation Fighting Blindness (www.fightingblindness.org). Linda's family is grateful for the compassionate care she received at the Montebello on Academy by the staff and from Road Runner Hospice during the last weeks of her life on earth. First John 3:1-3
