Albuquerque resident Linda Brandt, age 82, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lois and Clinton Brandt. She is survived by her sister, Dr. Susan Brandt Graham of Albuquerque and nephew Brandt Graham of Andrews, Texas.
Born in Oklahoma City in 1943, Linda grew up in Norman, graduating from Norman High and attending classes at the University of Oklahoma. Linda's gift, discovered as an adult, was a savant-like facility with Morse code. She communicated using Morse code with ham radio friends not only around Oklahoma, but all over the world. She loved getting postcards from new contacts. Her parents were surprised when people from the University (teaching assistants and even professors) started coming to the house to learn Morse code from Linda. That was a very good time in Linda's life.
After her father died, Linda and her mother moved to Albuquerque in 1998. Linda said she missed the tornados in Oklahoma, but she came to love the mountains and sky of the high desert in New Mexico. She wanted to stay here.
A graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park on Tuesday December 30, 2025, at 10:00am.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests your favorite charity or the road runner food bank.
