Linda Sheryl Adams

Linda Sheryl Adams, born on September 8, 1947, in Auburn, Illinois, passed away on July 26, 2026, in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was a dedicated electronics technician with a significant tenure at the Dickey-john Corporation, contributing her skills to the agricultural industry. Linda was known for her keen eye for detail, both in her work and in her personal interests.

Linda found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending her free time exploring garage sales and thrift stores, where she delighted in uncovering hidden treasures. She had a particular fondness for historical events and cherished visits to covered bridges, relishing their stories and craftsmanship. An avid fisherman and camper, she created lasting memories with her family in the great outdoors, which were often accompanied by her love for cooking delicious meals.

Linda is survived by her husband, Robert Earl Adams; her son, (Robert William) Bill Adams; her daughter, Patricia Ann Jayne; sister, Judy Whitnall; and brother, Robert Day. Her family and friends will remember her not only for her vibrant spirit and strong work ethic but also for her ability to bring people together through shared experiences and laughter. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents: Rose Lee Wylder, Herbert Allen Wylder, of Auburn Illinois; four brothers: Charles "Butchy" Day, Jr., Orville L. Hughes of Springfield, Illinois, George P. Hughes of Dell City, Joseph Day of Springfield, Illinois; and five sisters: Rosemary Rhodes of Divernon, Illinois, Lula Mae Wilson of Springfield, Illinois, Beulah Mae Graham of Tovey, Illinois, Alberta I. Norris of Divernon, Illinois, and Barbara J. Day of Springfield, Illinois and her beloved dogs: Gidget, Satchmo, and Luke.

Arrangements are under the direction of French Funerals and Cremations Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Memorials may be directed to a charity of choice; Mom was always fond of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
