Lillian Bernice Tagliaferri

Lillian Bernice Tagliaferri 91, passed away peacefully at home on February 21, 2026, in Albuquerque, NM. Lillian was born in Santa Fe, NM on October 13, 1934, to Gilbert and Clorinda Pacheco as the fourth of four children. She was a graduate of Albuquerque High School in 1952 and three years later met her future husband Pete Tagliaferri. Lillian and Pete were married on April 18, 1959. Having worked all her life, Lillian took ten years off to raise four boys, Peter, Paul, Thomas and John. Lillian instilled in her boys a sense of the natural world at a young age. Gardening, visits to the gem and mineral show and trips to places like Taos, Jemez and Carlsbad Caverns taught her family the importance of appreciating the outdoors. Her benevolence toward nature and wildlife kept her connected to the natural world. She loved her tortoises and always made sure the hummingbird feeders never ran dry.

Lillian is survived by her husband Pete, four sons; Peter (Palm Springs, CA), Paul (San Diego, CA), Thomas (Phoenix, AZ) and John (Phoenix, AZ). Also two sisters Margaret Chengson (Oakland, CA) and Mary Jane Allewelt (Novato, CA).

Services for Lillian will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave, NE; the Rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed immediately by the family's eulogy. Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Interment will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE following the conclusion of Mass.
