“Lilly” “Lynn”, age 77, passed peacefully away on the early morning of Tuesday, April 28th, 2020 at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Lillian was born on August 30th, 1942 at home, to Jumbo and Flora Nez in Chinle, Arizona. She attended high school at Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City, Utah. Lillian graduated with an Associate of Arts Degree at San Juan College in Farmington, New Mexico. Lillian was an extremely accomplished lady with many professions including a Dental Assistant. Lillian retired as an Administrative Assistant, in the year of 2000 from the Office of The Attorney General, State of Arizona.
Lillian was a beloved Mother to seven children, Grandma to twenty-five and Great-grandma to thirty-three. A treasured Best-Friend to Gloria Begay. Lillian was a cherished sister to six siblings and Aunty to many nieces and nephews. Lillian is known for her friendly attitude and sweet personality. She is always known for her contagious laughter and protective persona for anyone, family and friend. Lillian loved listening and dancing to country music, her favorite musician was George Straight and Alan Jackson. Lillian enjoyed going to rodeos, loved horses, and western movies.
She enjoyed many activities such as waking up early-weekend mornings to start her shopping spree at flea markets, thrift stores and treasure hunting at yard sales. Lillian loved watching sports and her favorite football team was none other then, Dallas Cowboys. "Cowboy up!" Lillian was described as a tough and strong lady, who didn't let life get her down, which got passed down to each of her children. Lillian was an independent woman who believed that no matter your circumstance, always know how to stand on your own two feet.
Preceded in death by her parents Jumbo and Flora Nez and brother, Kee Benally. She is survived by her children; Ricky Sloan, Teresa Sloan, Shawn Ignacio, Shawna Ignacio, Jason Ignacio, James Freeland and Tashina Begay.
