Lila Hansen

Ann was born March 28, 1930 to Merril Leonadas Loar and Cora Edna Barnes Loar at LaPlata, NM. She grew up at LaPlata and the LaPlata Mountain, Co.Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sister Iona Loar Nossaman, brothers Eldon L Loar and Marvin John Loar her two sons, David Charles Leeper and Kenneth Andrew Leeper and husband Ronald G. Hansen.

She is survived by her son Michael Allen Leeper, her grandson Daniel Underwood (Danielle), two great grandsons, Julian and Colton Underwood, her daughter-in-law, Norma Leeper, extended family: Anna Hansen Lane(Warren), Ingrid Hansen Salomonson (Michael), Craig Hansen, Colter Lane (Alli), Dillon and Lucy, ) Larkin Lane, Luke Hansen and Hope Hansen, numerous nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors.

After graduating from Farmington High School, she moved to Albuquerque, NM to business school. She worked for several years for Southern Union Gas Co when they opened the Albuquerque office. Ann married Lyle Leeper in 1950. They had three sons, David Charles, Kenneth Andrew and Michael Allen. Ann was involved with the Boy Scout of America as den mother and organizer. Her sons went from Cubs to Eagles and had some wonderful adventures on the way. Ann managed her husband's construction company and did bookkeeping for several other companies while raising her sons. She later worked for a real estate company, became a Real Estate Broker , had her own office for 25 to 30 years. Lyle and Ann were divorced in 1980. She married Ronald G. Hansen in 1989. He was her true soulmate.

Their passion was climbing mountains. Ron: "If you don't climb at least one 14er every summer, you aren't living right" They had a great life together, traveled from the Arctic to Antarctic, China , Norway, the Alps, England and France. Ron's death 2002 was a crushing blow to Ann. She went on pilgrimage with her church through France. She spent a month in Ireland with the Global Volunteers , spent several years working with inmates of Albuquerque Detention Center for the Santa Fe Archdiocese. Ann was completely devastated by the death of her two sons: David 2016, Kenneth 2017. Still she says "There has never been a time in my life that I have not felt the loving arms of my Savior Jesus Christ and his virgin mother Mary holding me close"

Ann died on May 19, 2025.
