On Saturday March 16, 2024, LeRoy Clarence Bearce passed away at the age of 96. He was a loving husband, father of three children, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
LeRoy Bearce was born on January 9, 1928, in Rockville, Missouri to Clarence and Katherine (Fleischer) Bearce. He received his ministerial degree at Southwest Baptist Theological Seminary. He served as a minister in several churches before enlisting in the Army. He enlisted in May 1946 as a Chaplain and retired as a Colonel in 1988. After retirement he did mission work overseas and in New Mexico. He was also the Director of Missions in New Mexico. He served the Lord all of his life and was a faithful member of Del Norte Baptist Church in Albuquerque, NM. He had a passion for gardening, reading, walking and computers. He also loved to watch Bob Ross and learned to paint. He was proficient at woodworking and could fix just about anything.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his wife, Stella Lea (Wilson) Bearce; his father, Clarence; mother, Katherine; and his 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his three children, Shirley (Bearce) Giese and husband Leon, Sandra (Bearce) Mackey and Charles Bearce and wife Susan. Also, his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Christopher Giese, wife Brooke and their child Kennedy, Melissa (Giese) Hawkins, husband Spencer and their children Silas, Julian and Damon, Jennifer (Mackey) Kaplan, husband Taylor and their children Ellie and Max and Brian Mackey, wife Kim and their children Fitch and Ezra. As well as several nieces and nephews.
The service will be held on April 9, 2024, at 2:00 pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM 87501. Donations can be sent to Del Norte Baptist Church, 5800 Montgomery Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Please put “Debt Reduction” in the memo note on you memorial donation check.
