Obituary

Leopoldo "LeoMartinez, age 77, passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico, to George and Tillie Martinez, and was a twin. He came from a large family of 10, which shaped his values and strengths throughout his life.

Leo was a beloved son, brother, father, and uncle. His loyalty, quiet humor, and steady presence touched the lives of everyone who knew him.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Leo loved classic cars, cruising throughout the city, and listening to soul music. These were the things that brought him joy and reflected his warm and easygoing spirit.

Leo proudly served his country as a Vietnam War veteran, holding the rank of E3 to Private First Class in the United States Army. His service was a defining part of his life and instilled in him resilience, discipline, and a deep sense of honor.

After serving in the military, Leo spent many dedicated years as a sterile technician at University of New Mexico Hospital, where he eventually retired. He took great pride in his work, always giving his best for the sake of patient care. His hard work, kindness, and reliability earned him the respect of everyone around him.

In his later years, Leo gave his life to Christ, and his renewed faith filled him with a deep sense of peace, purpose, and unshakeable trust in God.

Leo will be deeply missed by his family and all whose lives he touched. His legacy lives on in the memories he created, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely.

Pallbearers will be Louie Soto, Demetrio Candelaria, Frank Fricke II, Frank Fricke III, Samuel Trujillo, and Diego Trujillo.
